Laos acceeded to the Madrid Protocol for the International Registration of Marks on December 7th, 2015.
The 97th member globally, Laos joins Cambodia, the Philippines, Vietnam and Singapore as ASEAN members of the system. As a least developed country, applicants from Laos will benefit from a 90% discount on the basic application fee. The Protocol will enter into force on March 7, 2016.
